Serif creative agency and consultancy in Vienna and Amsterdam

Hey,

We are Serif - a creative agency and consultancy based in Vienna & Amsterdam. We work with companies and institutions across strategy, design, creative direction, and AI.

Previously, we collaborated with the European Union on using AI to improve how cities make democratic decisions at scale.

We've also worked with teams across Fortune 500 companies to optimise workflows and collaboration across large enterprise organisations. At MindStash, we are currently exploring the relationship between AI tools and the human brain.

We share a common background in neuroscience, design, and technology. We care deeply about solving complex problems affecting many people and hope to do so by creating beautiful and meaningful things along the way. Serif is deeply rooted in the creative scenes of Vienna and Amsterdam.

Beyond our core team, we can bring together interdisciplinary talent and resources from this network to match the specific needs of each project. Feel free to reach out if we care about the same things!

About Co.Built

Co.Built is a collaborative network based in Amsterdam working as part investment fund and part community infrastructure for people taking the century's hardest problems seriously. The identity had to feel at home in a pitch deck and at a community gathering alike.

Logo Design

The co.built logo

The mark is built from two overlapping circles forming the letters “C” and “O”. Read another way, it becomes a Venn diagram: two sets meeting in a shared space.

The form also draws from ideas of entanglement in physics and the vesica piscis — a historical symbol of union and connection.

Alongside the logo system, the project included brand guidelines, visual applications, and art direction across presentations, digital platforms, print, and merchandise. The identity was designed to be simple, structural, and adaptable across different contexts.

About Dembrane

AI powered technology to supercharge stakeholder engagement at any scale.

Dembrane builds democracy technology: tools that let institutions hear citizens at scale. Its flagship platform, ECHO, turns open ended conversation into structured, usable input for public decisions.

Our collaboration centred around ECHO's brand strategy, product positioning, and visual communication, carrying the platform from an early design concept to an established solution now used by more than 60 government and institutional clients across Europe.

The work drew on findings from OpenAI's “Democratic Inputs to AI” grant research, with a focus on making participatory AI feel trustworthy and legible rather than technocratic.

About MindStash

MindStash is an AI knowledge management app: a place to capture ideas without thinking, organise them without trying, and find them again without searching. The project was the design work behind the launch of its first product.

We led product design and web design for the company, shaping how the app looks, reads, and feels from the first screen through to the App Store.

Branding became a space for visual research. We used Midjourney as an exploratory tool, building reference boards and consistent style codes to test directions quickly before committing them to the system. That R&D approach shaped the marketing work too, where the aim was to find new forms of marketing design rather than reach for familiar patterns.

Imagery, motion, and layout were treated as experiments first and finished assets second, an identity built to feel considered rather than decorated.

MindStash's launch film introduces the company without a product demo. Rather than show the app, the brief was to capture curiosity itself, the quality of attention the product is built to support.

We led creative direction and production, partnering with a young interdisciplinary collective from Vienna. The crew of directors, cinematographers, editors, sound and colour worked between Vienna and Amsterdam. The concept was deliberately simple: cofounder Cosimo was given a camera and walked through his hometown for a day. What the film shows is what he saw.

The result is quiet and observational, ordinary moments framed as worth pausing for, with no talking heads and no product shots. From first script to final cut, our role was to hold the collective to one consistent tone. A brand film built on a single idea: a celebration of curiosity, and the tools that make us curious.
